Obituary of Salvatore Doto

DOTO, Salvatore A., 67 of Suffern, NY passed away on January 4th, 2010 with his family at his side, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Helena and Peter Bakun of Little Compton, RI and his granddaughter Grace Bakun, as well as his daughter and son-in-law Daryl and C.E. Smith of Parkchester, NY. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Elena Conklin of Suffern, NY, Toni-Ann Curley of Clifton Park, NY, and his beloved nieces and nephews. Sal was a devoted and loving husband to Lynn A. Doto (deceased) of Mahwah, NJ, and predeceased by his parents, Anthony S. and Helen Doto of Suffern, NY. Recently retired from a long and successful career as president of FDR Truck, Van, and Auto, Sal spent most of his time on the golf course playing the game he loved so much. He also loved to visit with his family and he read just about every book ever written! He will be remembered as a warm, friendly, and amazingly intelligent man. He made friends wherever he went. Sal adored his family and was incredibly proud of their accomplishments. A funeral mass will be held Saturday 10:00 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, 47 Island Road, Mahwah, NJ. Interment will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. Visiting is Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
