For the fmaily of my dear friend, Robin Maietta -- Jerry, Rachel, Kevin, Joyce and Stewart: I write this condolence with great sadness and disbelief that little Robin is not here. I will never forget receiving mail from UMO (long before Facebook) announcing that my roommate was from 181 Madison Avenue, Haworth, NJ. We were common spirits and shared so much in the aweinspiring freshman and subsequent years at college. I have vivid memories of our antics, daily campus routines and exciting times with new friends. I admired Robin's directness, upbeat manner, her long, straight hair and musical talents. I had great fondness for Robin's mom and dad who treated me like family when I visited during the summer and winter school breaks. Robin showed me the city and the suburbs, Broadway shows and Port Authority (I am from Maine, so her life was totally different from mine), and we got along so well! I am having a very difficult time coming to grips with Robin's illness and will never comprehend why she had to suffer. She was far too young to leave her loving family and friends. The expression that "life is too short" applies to hers. I am better for having known Robin. Thanks for everything, my dear friend, Robin. Love, Susan
