Obituary of Francesco Nuzzi

NUZZI Francesco, age 73, died peacefully with his beloved wife Anna by his side on Monday, May 14, 2012. Born and raised in Grumo Appula, Bari, Italy, Francesco came to the United States in 1966 with one suitcase and a soccer ball. His motivation was to be with the love of his life Anna D'Amato whom he met a year earlier in the U.S. and they were married October 30, 1966. Francesco began his career as a trade show contractor and was a successful businessman. He retired to Sea Girt in 2007 where he especially enjoyed playing cards on the beach and spending time with his entire family. As he would say, "What a life!" Francesco is survived by his beloved wife Anna, to whom he was married for 45 years, his four children: Anna Vincenty and husband Damon of Westwood, Joseph Nuzzi of Manhattan, Angela Tarnacki and husband John of Little Egg Harbor and Francesco Nuzzi and fiancé Jessica of Mahwah; five grandchildren: Damon, Michael, Christian, Victoria and Nicole; and his five siblings: Nicola, Laura, Teresa, Rocco and Paolo. He was predeceased by his sister Angela and his brother Vito. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, 7-9 PM and Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral Mass, Thursday, 10:30 AM at Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River. Private cremation will follow.
