Obituary of Rudy Malizia

MALIZIA, Rudolph, age 82 of Allendale, died Monday, October 12, 2009. Rudy was born in Paterson and has lived in Allendale since 1965. He was in the US Merchant Marines during World War II. He owned and operated Quality Skein in Paterson and continued to work in the textile industry until he retired in 2001. He was also a member of the Apple Ridge Country Club. He is survived by his loving wife Doris, his children; Rudy Malizia, Jr. of Mullberry, FL, Darlene and her husband Mark Amrogowicz of Boynton Beach, FL, Joseph Malizia of Milltown, NJ, David Malizia of Hawthorne, NJ and Dana Malizia and her husband Brian Ike of Kinnelon, NJ, and his grandchildren Dana and Tommy. He is also survived by his sisters Anne Miele, Anntoinette Affinito, Vera Docherty, and Gloria Darnese. Rudy is predeceased by his brothers Custer, Emil and Victor and his sisters Phylis, Gilda and Marie. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481, www.vpfh.com. Funeral mass is Thursday, 10:00 am at Guardian Angel RC Church, 320 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, NJ 07401. Entombment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
