Obituary of Marion DeMartino

Marion F. DeMartino, 54, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 at her shore home in Toms River. Born in Newark, she lived in Fair Lawn. Marion graduated from Our Lady of Good Council Grammar School and attended Marylawn of the Oranges Academy. She finished her education at the Berkley College of Business in fashion merchandising. Marion had a successful career as a fashion buyer in New York and New Jersey. Marion was later married to Tom Fowles and had three beautiful children whom she loved dearly, Andrea Fowles, Thomas Fowles and David Fowles. Marion always enjoyed adventure, was strong willed and enjoyed a good laugh. She enjoyed the little things in life and spending time with her grandchildren, Megan, Owen, Erin and Viviana. She enjoyed going to a diner with Bob as much as seeing a football game on Sunday. She always had a special place in her heart for her friends. She will always be loved by her mom and dad, Mary and Frank DeMartino of Toms River, her favorite brother Frankie DeMartino of Las Vegas and his wife Anna, her daughter-in-law Jennifer Fowles, her niece and nephew Talia and Anthony DeMartino, Jennifer and Lucas Cosgrove and her love who always stood by her, Bob Earl. Marion was a shining light with a warm and generous heart, and deeply touched the lives of all those who knew her. A celebration of Marion's life will be held for friends and relatives on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 4pm to 9pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, located at 257 Godwin Ave. in Wyckoff, NJ (201-891-3400 vpfh.com). A short mass will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 9:30am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 445 5th Ave. in Riverside, NJ. Cremation will be private. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, would be appreciated.
