Obituary of Louis Letsche
LETSCHE, Louis, age 89 of Sussex, NJ, formerly of Waldwick, died peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2012. Louis was born in Jersey City, grew up in Teaneck and moved to Waldwick in 1954. Four years ago he and his wife Elaine moved to Sussex. Lou was a Draftsman for Langan Engineering in Saddle Brook before his retirement in 1988. He was a former member of the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a member of the American Legion Post 57. Lou was a member of the VFW Post 1049 in Waldwick where he served as Commander and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Waldwick. Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years Elaine E. (nee Ritter), his children, Susan and her husband Robert D. Hopken and John L. Letsche and his wife Alice. Lou also leaves his grandchildren, Amanda, Meredith, Eric, Michelle, Kyle and his great granddaughter Alexis. Lou was pre-deceased by his son Steven J. Letsche in 1995. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting is Monday 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or the N.J. Foundation for the Blind, 230 Diamond Spring Rd., P.O. Box 929, Denville, NJ 07834.
