Obituary of Peter Teichmann

TEICHMANN, Peter A age 68 of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of North Haledon, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Pete was born on November 17, 1940 in Englewood, NJ to Joacham and Eugenie Gingert Teichmann. In his early career; Pete was president of Gingert Laces, a textile company in Haledon and later was a driver for Hinchman Concrete in Wayne. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Submariner Quartermaster 1st Class aboard the USS Crevalle (SS291) and the USS Sea Lion (SS315). He was a member of the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc., also the U.S. Subvets, Barb Base of Cape Coral. Pete was inducted into the Holland Club for 50 years of service in 2009. When living in North Haledon, Pete was a member of the North Haledon Volunteer Fire Co. #2. He was a lover of the outdoors and spent much time fishing, hunting and boating. Pete was also known as a history buff and was a generous loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Surviving is his loving wife of 45 years, Myrtle (nee Witte), his devoted daughters, Cynthia and her husband John Livesey of Ringwood, NJ and Bonnie and her husband Robert George of Mechanicsberg, PA. Pete also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Erik, Abigail, Lindsay and Derek. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, July 20, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 204 Squaw Brook Road, North Haledon, NJ.
