Obituary of Joseph Thompson

THOMPSON III, Joseph Hill "Jack" age 54 of Mahwah, died Monday, July 6, 2009. Born in Ridgewood, Jack was a long time resident there before moving to Mahwah. During his career Jack was a retail food merchandiser before his retirement. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed playing softball in the Ridgewood men's league. Jack enjoyed being on the golf course with his many friends, was an old movie buff and was a lover of nature and had many pets. Surviving is his beloved mother Marjorie (nee DeMott), his brother Thomas Thompson of Ramsey and his sister Lynn Thompson of Manchester, VT and Sarasota, FL. Jack was pre-deceased by his father Joseph Hill Thompson, Jr. in 1992 and his brother James Hill Thompson in 1953. A graveside service will be held Friday 10:30 am at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting will be Thursday, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.
