Obituary of Wilhelmina Van Spronsen

VAN SPRONSEN, Wilma age 93 of Wyckoff, died peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff. Wilma was born in the Netherlands and came to the United States in 1954 settling with her family in Wantagh, NY. She moved to Wyckoff in 1964. Wilma spent her time doing volunteer work caring for the elderly at the Christian Health Care Center. She also volunteered for FISH as a driver for the elderly or infirmed who needed transportation for necessities and doctor visits. Wilma was a member of the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff. Surviving are her children, Edward and John Van Spronsen of Midland Park, Elly DeVries of London, Ontario, Canada and Joanne Josten of Grand Rapids, MI. Wilma also leaves six grandsons, six great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Wilma was pre-deceased by her husband John Van Spronsen in 2000. A memorial services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, 422 Cedar Hill Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will be private in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. The Van Spronsen family will receive friends at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff on Friday 7:00 until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Christian School Association, 50 Oakwood Avenue, North Haledon, NJ 07508.
