Obituary of Henry Kirkenir

KIRKENIR, Henry, age 81, died peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2009. Born in Friesland, the Netherlands, he lived in Wyckoff for the past 49 years. Henry worked with the public works division of the Township of Wyckoff from 1969 until retiring as assistant superintendant in 1993. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force. Henry is survived by his three loving children, Leslie Hoffman of Bogota, William and wife Myrna of Garner, NC, and Sarah Raney and husband John of Allendale. He is also survived by seven dear grandchildren; Jaina, Eric, Jill, Shaun, Bradley, Kimberly and Bethany and two precious great-grandchildren; Jake and Grace. Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife Lucille in 1999. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A brief funeral service will take place during the visitation time at 7:30 PM. Cremation and interment will be private.
