Obituary of Thomas P. O'Connor

O'Connor, Thomas P. Jr. age 75 of Vernon died Saturday, April 4, 2009. Born in West New York, he grew up in Union City and lived in Waldwick until moving to Vernon in 1973. Thomas was an Engineer for Werner & Pfleiderer Corp. Ramsey, NJ for 40 years before his retirement in 1995. He was a Marine veteran who served from 1951-1959 and was a former member of the American Legion in Waldwick and Sparta. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Marilyn (nee Dernbach) O'Connor of Vernon, two daughters, Patricia and her husband David Schley of Circleville, NY; Kathleen and her husband Joe Russo of Hawthorne, NJ; two sons, Michael of Hawaii and Thomas III of Vernon, NJ. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Megan Schley, J.J. Russo and Katie Russo and his brother, Richard O'Connor of Dumont, NJ. Visiting Wednesday 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
