Obituary of Mieczyslaw Kochanek

Kochanek, Mieczyslaw "Mickey" age 91 of North Haledon died Saturday, March 21, 2009. Born in Lowell, MA and moved to Poland at the age of 4 and resided there until the age of 18, he returned to the United States and lived in Fall River, MA until 1940. After World War II he resided in West Paterson and Little Falls and most recently at the Holland Christian Home, North Haledon, NJ. He was a WW II Army veteran who served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He worked as a Weaver for Botany Mills, Passaic for many years. Surviving are 2 Sisters, Wanda Kozdra and Kazmiera Rogala and 1 Brother, Zygmunt Kochanek all of Poland. Also surviving are several first cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Helena Pisanska. Private cremation was held. No visiting hours. Entombment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ will be held at a later date.
