Obituary of Francis Vranesich

VRANESICH, Francis, "Duke" age 75, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 12, 2009. Born in Ely, MN, he lived in Wyckoff since 1962. Duke was a plant manager with Beecham Products, Inc. of Clifton for 26 years until retiring in 1986. He served his country as a captain in the United States Marine Corps. Survived by his beloved wife Dorothy "Dede" (nee Wallace), his five children: Marc, Thomas, Peter, Daniel and Stefanie Weisbrot, and seven grandchildren: Sarah, Katherine, Michael, Carly, Christopher, Matthew and Louisa. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lucy Volk and Mary Ann Palmer. Cremation was private. There will be a receiving of friends and family on Sunday, 2-4 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Jail Ministry, Attention Rev. Msgr. Mark J. Giordani, 381 Grand St., Paterson, NJ 07505, to aid in ministry of detained youth.
