Obituary of John Tibbs

TIBBS, John J. age 55 of Saddle River, died peacefully at his home on February 1, 2009 surrounded by his family. John was born in Teaneck on September 30, 1953. He was Vice President of Taxes for Sumitomo Corporation of America located in New York City. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a parishioner of St. Gabriel's R.C. Church in Saddle River. Surviving is his loving wife of 31 years Irene (nee Mariani), his devoted children, Gerard and his wife Danielle of Mahwah and Jill and her husband Jeffrey Marmo of Hoboken. John also leaves his brother Thomas Tibbs of Oakland and his sisters Frances Henderson of Bergenfield and Margaret Vietri of Ringwood. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will follow 11:00 am at St. Gabriel's R. C. Church, 88 East Saddle River Road, Saddle River. Visiting is Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Elementary School, 325 West Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450, or the Survivors of the Triangle, 602 Brass Castle Road, Belvidere, NJ 07823-2725.
