Obituary of Mildred Unger

UNGER, Mildred C., age 80, died on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Millie was born in Nutley and lived in Clifton before moving to Wyckoff 53 years ago. Millie attended Clifton Public Schools and then NYU graduating in 1949. Millie worked as a Medical Technician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson until she began her family. Later in life Millie became a Desk Clerk for the Wyckoff Public Library working for 16 years, retiring in 1992, but still was actively volunteering. Millie was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, serving several terms as an elder. Millie was also involved in numerous volunteer activities including the Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, and was a member and past president of the Wyckoff Protection Fire Company 1 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her loving children Michael and Ellen Unger of Amherst, NH, Timothy and Susan Unger of Huntington Station, NY, and Cindy and James Coviello of Wharton, NJ, and her adoring grandchildren Jonathan, Gabriel, Christopher, Julia, Sophie, Daniel, Sarah, and Christina. She is also survived by three nieces and their families. Millie was pre-deceased by her husband George in 2001, her parents Catherine and Howard Goellner and her sister Rosalie Goellner. Visiting hours will be Monday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, www.vpfh.com. Funeral service will be held Tuesday 10:00am at the Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Ave, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery in Wyckoff.
