Obituary of Joseph Ganguzza

GANGUZZA, Joseph H., 51, beloved son of Joseph and Frances, incredible father to Lisa and Joey, husband to Carole, and brother to Donna Shafir (Robert) and Theresa Levine (Joshua) passed away suddenly as a result of cardiac arrest. Joe was born in Englewood, New Jersey on February 24, 1957. A cum laude of Boston College (1979), and the University of Miami School of Law (1982), Joe practiced law in Miami for twenty-seven years and founded and directed Joseph H. Ganguzza & Associates PA. Joe also served on The City of Miami Zoning Board for the last nine years. Joe was a one of a kind individual who loved his family with all of his heart. He had more interests than there is room to list on this page. From traveling, to music, to cooking, to flying, aviation, history, culture, and his Italian roots, Joe had an immeasurable passion for learning and life. The sudden and unexpected death of Joe is an unimaginable loss to his family and friends. (And his dog, Lola). It is a terrible tragedy that such an incredibly loving, passionate, and driven individual was taken from us so soon. He will never be forgotten. Although we are heartbroken, we are thankful to have had him in our lives. His charisma, spirit, interest, and determination serve as an indescribable inspiration to us all. We only hope that Joe is as happy now as he was the day he was taken from us. Visiting is Friday, January 9th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ (www.vpfh.com). Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10th, 10:00 am at the Fardale Chapel, 86 Chapel Road, Mahwah, NJ. Interment will follow across the street in the Redeemer Cemetery, 90 Chapel Road, Mahwah, NJ. We are going to miss Joe with all of our hearts.
