Obituary of Keith Eller

ELLER, Keith B., Jr., age 83, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008. Born in Bradford, OH, he grew up in Metuchen and Tenafly before settling in Wyckoff, thirty-nine years ago. Keith graduated from Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, was a self-employed graphic/commercial artist, and owned Marketing Graphics of Wyckoff. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was awarded the Air Medal during his service in the Philippine Islands in 1945. He flew as a radio/radar gunner in B-25 Bombers and SB2C Curtiss Helldiver Dive Bombers. Almost forty years of Keith's life was dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America, serving in various positions from Cubmaster and Scoutmaster to Committee Chairman in both Massachusetts and New Jersey. In New Jersey he was affiliated with Troop 309 of Wyckoff where he earned many distinguished adult leadership awards. Keith is survived by his two sons; Keith L. of Bloomingdale and Brian H. and his wife Maureen L. of Old Tappan. He is also survived by his three dear grandsons; Daniel, Christopher and John, and his two brothers; Harold E. of Hampstead, NC and Ned B. of Ghent, WV. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marcella "Marcy" Eller this past July, 2008. Friends may visit the family on Friday, January 9. 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral Service, Saturday January 10, 2009, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment, George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Tribute Fund in memory of Keith B. Eller, Jr., Northern, NJ Council (NNJC), Boy Scouts of America, 25 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436, would be appreciated.
