Obituary of Mark Kulina

KULINA, Mark R., Sr., age 80, died peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2008. Born in Kingston, PA, he lived in Franklin Lakes for many years. Mark graduated from Johns Hopkins University and went on to receive his master's degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University. He was a mechanical engineer with Curtiss Wright Corporation, John Deere and most recently, with Rotary Power International until retiring in 1995. Concurrent with his work at Curtiss Wright, Mark was an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He coached Franklin Lakes youth soccer and was involved with the Northwest Bergen Soccer Association. Mark is survived by his dear daughter Jane Kelly and husband Peter of Hawthorne, his dear son Mark Kulina, Jr. and wife Michele of Lake Placid, NY, and four loved grandchildren, Nicholas, Pauline, Alexander and Steven. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Christine and his three brothers, Joseph, Thomas and Daniel. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10:00 AM at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 200 Wyckoff Ave., Ramsey, followed by private cremation. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834, would be appreciated.
