Obituary of Charles Montag

MONTAG, Charles E. age 91 of Waldwick, died peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Charles was born in Ridgewood, NY on March 30, 1917, he lived in Waldwick for the past 48 years. He was a Systems Analyst for Consolidated Edison in New York City for 35 years before his retirement in 1980. Charles served his country during World War II in the United States Army during the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Frances (nee Teixeira), his children Charles of Fishkill, NY, Patricia Lyons of Paramus, James of Waldwick, Clare of Mahwah and Teresa Doherty of Andover, NJ. Charles also leaves nine adoring grandchildren and his great grandson. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Susanne Margaret in 1951. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:15 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will follow 10:00 am at St. Luke's R. C. Church, 340 Franklin Tpk., HoHoKus, NJ. Interment will be in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Visiting is Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
