Obituary of William Scully

SCULLY, William, age 61, died on November 10, 2008 at his home in Hilton Head, SC. Born in Bloomfield, NJ, he lived in Mahwah until moving to Hilton Head in 2008. Bill worked for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah for 15 years and BMW in Montvale for 27 years. At BMW Bill spent most of career as Manager of Safety Engineering, ending his career there as a Communication Specialist. Bill is survived by his devoted wife Joan and his adoring children, Dennis Scully and his wife Dara, Kathy Leiz and her husband Jim, James Scully and his wife Sarah, Jennifer Turskowski and her husband Jeff, and Jessica Scully along with his granddaughter Juliette Hope Leiz, all of New Jersey. He is also survived by his stepchildren Cynthia and David Noordeloos of Holly Springs, NC and Alan and Madelyn Senegeto of Kennett Square, PA and six step-grandchildren, Maxwell, Joshua, Drew, Emily, Adrienne, and Colin. Bill was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers as well as numerous other trade organizations. Auto racing was Bill's main passion, having owned his own race car for many years. He also was an avid reader, collector of books and music enthusiast. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 from 1:00 - 3:00 & 7:00 - 8:45 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ (www.vpfh.com). There will be a funeral service at 8:45 PM on Thursday at the conclusion of visiting hours.
