Obituary of Columbia Grassi - Mauri
Grassi-Mauri, Columbia (92) of Midland Park died peacefully on September 25th at her home with her family by her side. Formerly of Flushing, New York, Columbia was born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Columbia was the devoted mother of Rosemary Cuoco and Irene Schiffer and the devoted mother-in-law of Anthony Cuoco and Bob Schiffer. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Christine and Michael Cuoco, Jennifer and Lauren Schiffer. Columbia retired from New York Life Insurance Company in 1979 and since 1984 thoroughly enjoyed the North West Bergen County Senior Citizen Center in Midland Park. Colly was a "Happy Tapper," participating in "Tap-a-Mania" at Macy's, Herald Square. She attended The Church of the Nativity and was a member of the parish's Rosary Society. As a member of Midland Park Seniors she enjoyed their many trips and activities. Viewing will be at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (VPFH.com) 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff (201) 891-3400 on Sunday, Sept 28th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 10:00 AM at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park. Internment with follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY. In lieu of flowers, Colly requested donations to Tomorrow's Children's Fund Hackensack University Medical Center 30 Prospect Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942, or The American Cancer Society 20 Mercer St. Hackensack, NJ 07601.
