Obituary of Gerald Kearney
Gerald Kearney, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away on August 7, 2015. He was 75. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was a long time resident of Midland Park, New Jersey and he loved spending time at his beach house down the shore. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and served his country proudly in the US Navy during Vietnam. His wife, Caroline Kearney, predeceased him in 2009. He is survived by his son Frederick Kearney and his partner David Lauterstein, daughter Jill Laubauskas and her husband Michael, son Gerald Kearney and his wife Christine and his five grandchildren, Adriana, Harrison and Holden Kearney and Jillian and Michael Laubauskas. Also surviving are his sisters, Florence Goham and Margaret Velardi. The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 13th from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, New Jersey 07481. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, August 14th at 10:00 AM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562.
