Obituary of Nona Blain Paulson

Paulson, Nona Blain (nee Ringler), age 78, died Thursday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Nona was born in New York, NY. She was most recently was a resident of Franklin Lakes, NJ, but had spent several years in Europe, including ten years in France. She was a graduate of Smith College. Prior to her retirement, she was the President of Tour de France Ltd. Nona was a member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Ho-Ho-Kus, and was active in her local Smith College Club. She was also a member of the Indian Trail Club, Franklin Lakes and Ridgewood Country Club, Paramus. Nona was an avid traveler and had a lifelong love for nature and art. Nona is survived by her loving husband, Photios "Fred" Paulson of Franklin Lakes; her adoring children, Elisabeth "Lisa" Gerdes of Natick, MA, Paul A. Paulson of Hoboken, NJ and Mary Blain Paulson of New York, NY. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Rebecca, Claire, and Abigail Gerdes, who were very dear to her heart, and her sister, Patti Johnson of Bradenton, FL. The Paulson family will receive family and friends on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 70 Sheridan Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. A private cremation will be held. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Nona's memory may be made to St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church or the NJ Audubon Society, 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417.
