Obituary of Rita Contrucci

Contrucci, Rita A. (nee Poggi), age 92 of Allendale passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Forest Hills, NY before moving to Allendale 30 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Rita was a secretary for Judge Pinto in Manhattan, NY. She was a member of Church of the Guardian Angel, Allendale and a member of the Allendale and Franklin Lakes Seniors Citizens groups. Rita is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Bruno F. Contrucci of Allendale, her children, Dr. Robert Contrucci and his wife, Emma of Hollywood, FL and Celeste Smith and her husband, Robert of Glen Rock, NJ. Rita is survived by her five adoring grandchildren, Christopher and Alison Smith, Anthony Contrucci and his wife, Melissa, Christina Harris and her husband, Casey and Jordana Ruiz and her husband Raul. Rita was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Kristoff, Aspen and Christian. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 29th from 2:00-4:00, 7:00-9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30th at Church of the Guardian Angel, 320 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, NJ 07401. The interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
