Obituary of Henry Quinn

QUINN, Henry J. (Hank) entered into his heavenly life on Monday, August 11, 2008. He was born to William and Margaret (Fullerton) Quinn on December 28, 1934 in Queens New York and grew up with his family on 52nd street in Woodside. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ellen V. Quinn (Carney), his parents William and Margaret; his siblings: Edward, Kathleen, William "Doc", Raymond. He is survived by his three children, Jane Murphy (John) of Staten Island NY, James Quinn (Janine) of Lansing, MI, and Colleen Wilson (Greg) of Wyckoff, NJ; his eight grandchildren, James Quinn, Sean Murphy, Dillon Quinn, Patrick Quinn, Veronica Quinn, Ellie Wilson, Maggie Wilson, and Owen Wilson; his sisters, Rosina of Woodside NY, and Margaret of Brookfield CT. Henry is also survived by his best friend Carolyn Birmelin of Lake Ariel, PA. An avid Giants, Yankee and Ranger fan he also loved spending time with his family and friends. Henry was a purchasing manager for General Motors before retiring, and also worked for the Blarney Rock Pub in NYC. He was a graduate of La Salle Academy NYC. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, George W. Hudson Council, Woodside NY, and a member of the Paramus Catholic Parents Guild where his three children attended high school. Henry moved to Paramus from Woodside NY in 1968 and lived there before moving to the Hideout in Lake Ariel, PA, where he was a parishioner of St. Thomas Moore Church. Funeral service will be held Saturday 9:00 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral mass will follow 10 AM at Annunciation RC Church, 50 West Midland Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Interment will be in the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM Memorial contributions may be made to the Paramus Catholic High School, 425 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.
