To our good friend Rita from Lu and George Nejmeh....Rita we are going to miss you and one of the things about you we are going to miss very much. When we moved into the 3rd floor apt at Totowa Ave. You came up and took us introduced yourself and asked if you could use our clothesline. You took us in immediately that is the kind of person you were. Rita you are the friend of friends. You then took your family and melted it into our family and vice a versa. One good experience I remember is when Art asked Lu to make him corn bread and chili and beans. I told Art that Lu's chili and beans is different from what he had in the army. I told Art not to dig into the chili and beans. I gave him a tiny bit on a fork and he tried it and screamed from the burning. He did eat the corn bread but not the chili and beans. You and Art are always in our thoughts and prayers. In 1976 you offered to watch our 5 children at 109 Edison Street, in Clifton, NJ, while we looked for a new property to build our home in Illinois. What a wonderful job you did, we will never forget that. Love, Lu and George Nejmeh

Rita has been a part of my life from the day I was born until the day she died. Although we were not related by blood, Rita was always like a mother to me. We shared so many happy memories. No matter what happened whenever I talked to Rita I felt better. She would say, Mon it is going to be alright. Rita and the Nejmeh's had the ties that bind. I will miss her laugh, her jokes, her Bronx accent, her sweet demeanor, I will miss everything about Rita. I know I have an angel in heaven looking out for me and my family. My parents, George and Lou Nejmeh, will miss her dear friendship, it was a friendship filled with love, laughter, hope. Rest well my dear Rita, keep Art company, until we meet again. I love you Rita.

Dear Barbara, Susan and kids, I really really wish I was there with you. Rita is a queen amongst us all. She never complained, was always thinking of others and never forgot any of us. I wish I could have spent more time with her and you. There is no other woman I loved more than Rita (aside from my mom and sisters). She made every minute fun and she was the best friend my parent and us have ever had. I know that she is in heaven without doubt. I hope we all try to be together more often so we don't have the regrets that I feel right now. If only the Yankees knew her she would have had a box seat every game. With sincere love, friendship and sadness. Patti

Dear Barbara, Susan and Family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom, Rita. I loved her very much and will miss her joyful personality and quick wit! I have great memories of spending time with you guys! Only your Mom and Art could "lighten up" my Dad! My Dad is a "unique guy" and your Mom and Dad could always move him from one of his "passionate-highly-tense moments" to huge laughter! We had alot of fun Saturday nights with you guys bringing your Dunkin Donuts over! I am thankful I knew your Mom,memories of her will forever put a smile on my face! Oh, also I would like to dedicate this song to "Rita-Patricia" "Break the news to Mother"(Vroom) "The Cat fell in the butter"(Vroom) "The butter got soft"(Vroom) "The Cat got lost" "So break the news to Mother"(Vroom)(Vroom)(Vroom) Love, Teresa Lindahl Dan Lindahl and Family

Dear Barbara, Sue and Family, Rita will always be in my heart. She has known me my entire life. I will always cherish the memories of when we were kids and the visits we shared. Rita will always be 'Rita-Patricia' to me. This was a name I gave her when she and Art stayed with us in 1976. Rita and I would always talk about the Yankees (how she loved HER Yankees). In recent years Rita once phoned me, and left a message on my answering machine. She said "Hey George, this is Rita. Did you watch the Yankees game today? I didn't even know they were playing!" She always had her Bronx accent, and every word sounded so unique. Well my wife, Beulah, and stepdaughter, Darcel just thought this was the best message they had ever heard. I explained that Rita is a true New York Yankee fan and she will always have the accent! Another time, Rita called me because she knew I would be watching the Yankees game on ESPN. She had me convinced that she was AT THE GAME with her grandson, and they were sitting behind the Yankees dugout. I remember becoming angry at the ESPN cameraman for not showing a shot behind the dugout so I could see Rita at the game! I later phoned Rita, and she said she was only joking, but it was all in good fun. She loved to laugh. I will miss that. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and yours during this time. From our family to yours, God Bless. Love, George Nejmeh, Beulah Gillett & Family
