Obituary of Eugenia Uselyte

Eugenia Uselyte, 91, of Franklin Lakes, NJ, passed on May 25, 2015 at the Van Dyk nursing home in Ridgewood, NJ, surrounded by loving family and friends. Eugenia was born in 1923 in Alytus, Lithuania to the late Stasys and Nadezda Uselis. She attended the University of Heidelberg as a philosophy major and upon graduation worked as a registered nurse in Germany. Always seeking new life challenges, Eugenia later worked as a high-fashion model in Barcelona, Spain, during the 1950's, for the prestigious house of Pedro Rodriguez. Always on the go, Eugenia came to the United States in 1959. She spent several years in Cleveland and was a house model at Higbee's. She later moved to New York City in 1962 and went to work as the hatcheck lady at Sardi's Restaurant until her retirement in late 90's. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Manuel Yglesias of Franklin Lakes and many friends. Eugenia lived a full and very exciting life, and she has now embarked on a new journey. Visitation will be at Olthuis Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 159 Godwin Ave., Midland Park, NJ, on Thursday, May 28th, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
