Obituary of Jim Alfano

Alfano, Jim age 69 of Bloomingdale went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Born in Paterson, Jim lived in Midland Park before moving to Bloomingdale. He was the President of Jim Alfano Co. Inc. of Hawthorne, a HVAC service provider, since 1971. Jim was an Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post 199 of Hawthorne, BNI; Business Network International and RSES; Refrigeration Service Engineers Society serving as Past President and CMS. Jim was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Mahwah where he served on the building and grounds committee. Surviving are his wife Lorraine of Bloomingdale, his son, Thomas Alfano and his wife Regina of Lodi, his daughter, Christine Alfano-Muller and her husband, Marc of Islip Terrace, NY and his step-daughter, Amy Mathieu and her husband Chad of Cornwall, NY. Also surviving are his 5 grandchildren, Rachel, Jake, Cassandra, Logan and Ty along with his brother, George Alfano of Saddle Brook and his sister, Jean Pomante of Toms River. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Joe, Paul and Tony Alfano. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed boating on Greenwood Lake, traveling and vacationing at the Jersey shore. Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 4 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 5 at 10am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 125 Glasgow Terrace, Mahwah, NJ 07430. Interment will follow in Airmont Lutheran Cemetery, Airmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Building and Grounds Fund of Holy Cross Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
