Mary LaMorte

Obituary of Mary LaMorte

Mary S. LaMorte passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015. Born in Glen Ridge to John and Stephanie Klein, she grew up in Bloomfield and was a long time resident of Parsippany. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved to travel and spend time at her Ortley Beach home. Even though this is truly a time of mourning and sadness, the memory of Mary will make the majority of us smile, if not laugh. Her unique style and audacious sense of humor are an immediate reaction when thinking of her, especially among her Ortley Beach friends. She leaves behind her loving, patient husband of 42 years, Gerard A. "Jerry" LaMorte, who truly modeled unconditional love and devotion towards her, regardless of the circumstance. Also surviving are her three children, Richard J. LaMorte, Erica M. LaMorte, and Dr. Gerard A. LaMorte, III, whom she taught to be fiercely independent and to remain true to themselves, just as she was. She will be dearly missed by her precious granddaughter, Darci D. Gallaway, whom she loved spending quality time with, her loving sister, Linda Bochiaro (Peter), her brother, John Klein (Dianne), along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and neighborhood friends in Parsippany and Ortley Beach. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Ann's Church, 781 Smith Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. In lieu of flowers, please send a plant or as an expression of sympathy, a contribution in Mary's memory may be made to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, 100 Madison Ave., Morristown, NJ 07960, would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are by Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com) - Wyckoff.
