Obituary of Toshinori Ishii
Toshinori "Tom" Ishii, age 72, of Franklin Lakes, NJ, died in his home on Thursday, January 29th, 2015. Mr. Ishii was born in Tokyo, Japan on May, 7th 1942 to his parents Shinichi and Tone Ishii. He married Yuriko Tawara before moving to the United States 41 years ago to pursue dreams of becoming an engineer. Mr. Ishii dedicated his life to electronics, mainly sophisticated audio systems, and worked for Emerson Radio Corporation before establishing his career home in Onkyo USA in Upper Saddle River, NJ. He represented the premium audio component manufacturer as Executive Vice President through to retirement where he continued to serve the organization as Corporate Advisor and Honorary Chairman. Photography, auto racing, gardening, travel, food, music, and home improvement were among his numerous hobbies and interests which he enthusiastically shared with family members. Intelligent, energetic, inventive, and playfully comical, Toshinori inspired everyone around him with creative wisdom and warm companionship often followed by trails of laughter. He is survived by his wife, Yuriko Ishii, his daughter and son, Yukiko and Ken Ishii, and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
