Haiti was where I first got to know Dave pretty well. I was there for two weeks checking ministry possibilities, and after a great week with Double Harvest, I joined Dave in taking a look at World Vision ministries in Port au Prince and the island of La Gonave, where World Vision has been the de facto sole infrastructure for many years. We flew to the island in a small plane, and met ministry leaders there for a couple of days, flying back to World Vision HQ in Port au Prince. I was so impressed by Dave's heart for people, whether they were pastors, nurses, instructors, advisors, specialists or just people on the street. You could especially see his heart as he interacted with children. "Big hands, big heart" is how I thought of him from then on...
I worked with him in various ways subsequently, in World Vision projects, or teaching together at Hawthorne Gospel Church, and enjoyed the comeraderie and his joy of life. We had many lunches at Whole Foods - one of his many delightful passions - and had many a laugh and more than a few shared tears about the ups and downs of ministry and the tremendous needs all over the world. Dave was so much a citizen of the world - almost everyone loved him and he loved almost everyone he met - certainly the most loving and beloved friend I've ever had. Dave has been a citizen of heaven for a long time now... now his address is there as well.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave at Hawthorne Gospel Church at the evening bible school. He was teaching on 1 and 2 Kings. I learned alot and I enjoyed his humor. His leadership training in Africa was surley a blessing to many. My condolences to the family.

Although I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Krentel, I have had the privilege of working with his son Jonathan over the last several years. I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. I remember when he was head of the youth at the Hawthorne Gospel Church. He served the Lord faithfully for many years. We were friends on facebook even though we lived miles apart.He is now with the Lord and in fellowship with the many Saints including Pastor Hermann G Braunlin. I am saddened to learn of the loss of David but I know that he is present with the Lord and he has seen the Face of the One that he served so faithfully. I feel so blessed to have known him.
