Obituary of Janet S. Kelso

Kelso, Janet S. (nee Snook) age 90 of Waldwick, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at her home. Born in Lewistown, PA she lived in Clifton, NJ before moving to Waldwick in 1951. Janet was a Registered Nurse for Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. for 4 years before her retirement in 1943. Janet was an active member of the Waldwick United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many Church activities and served as Benevolence Treasurer and Church Historian for many years. Surviving are her sons, John M. Kelso Jr. and his wife Lydia of Southport, NC and Timothy Kelso and Jean Brennan of Oakland, NJ. Also surviving are her two grandsons, LCDR Glenn Kelso, USN of Chesterfield, VA and LCDR Mark Kelso, USN of Burke, VA and her three great-grandchildren, Morgan, age 7, Spencer, age 5 and Allyson, age 3. Also her sister, Patricia Huff of North Canton, OH. She was predeceased by her husband, John M. Sr. in 1991, two sons, David in 1970 and Jeffrey in 1943, her brother, Merrill Snook and her sister, Jean Thomas. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service Thursday 10 a.m. at the Waldwick United Methodist Church, 25 Franklin Tpk. Waldwick, NJ. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown, PA. Memorial Contributions to Waldwick United Methodist Church, 25 Franklin Tpk.
