Obituary of Virginia Quackenbush

Quackenbush, Virginia Fairhurst ("Muffin"), age 83, of Wyckoff and Beach Haven Gardens, NJ, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Muffin was born in Paterson and lived there before moving to Wyckoff over 60 years ago. She enjoyed spending summers at the Jersey Shore all her life. Muffin graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1952 with a B.A. in Biochemistry. In 2002, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Eby Quackenbush, with whom she spent 49 years of happy marriage, lovingly raising three daughters and graciously hosting many memorable get-togethers with family and friends. Muffin was a member of the "The Girls" Bridge Club (you know who you are!), Valley Bridge and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her daughters: Sally Q. Mason of New York City, Liz F. Quackenbush of State College, PA, and Mary Q. Senn of Hampton, NJ; and four grandchildren, James H. Mason, Daniel P. Mason, Peter Q. Mason and Dizzy Q. Farbanish. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, East 18th Street and Broadway, Paterson NJ.
