Obituary of Virginia Colonna

Colonna, Virginia, age 99 died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at King James Care Center, Chatham, NJ. She was born in Jersey City and resided in Randolph and Wayne before recently moving to Chatham. Virginia was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family. Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph in 1990 who was the founder of Colonna Food Company in North Bergen, NJ. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Grace Calabrese and her husband Michael of Wayne, her son, Roger Colonna and his wife, Michelle of Denville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Caryn Nash and her husband Ed, Jeffrey Calabrese and his wife Cally, Joseph Colonna, Jennifer Scerbo and her husband Frank, Katie McFadden and Giselle McFadden and her great grandchildren, Jamie Nash, Christopher Nash, Jennifer Calabrese, Kevin Calabrese, Sophia Scerbo and Luke Scerbo. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 4:00- 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014, 11:00 AM at Madonna on the Hill, 2070 Hoefleys Lane, Ft. Lee, NJ 07024. Entombment will follow at Madonna Mausoleum.
