Obituary of Martha Johnson

JOHNSON, Martha M. (nee Gerhardt) age 96 of Wyckoff, died peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Christian Health Care Center. Martha was born in Paterson on June 20, 1911. She lived in Wyckoff for more then 60 years. Martha was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church where she served on the Ladies Aid Society, the Ladies Auxiliary of Protection Fire Company # 1 of Wyckoff, and the Order of the Eastern Star Ridgewood Chapter # 39. Martha also enjoyed volunteering as a docent at the Zabriski House Museum in Wyckoff. Surviving are her devoted sons, Eric C. Johnson and his wife Maria of Wyckoff, and Craig A. Johnson and his wife Barbara of Brewster, MA. Martha also leaves her four grandsons, Carl, Paul, Mark and David. Martha was pre-deceased by her husband Charles W. Johnson in 1987. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Memorial contribution may be made to the Employee fund of the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
