Obituary of Margery Lawler

LAWLER, Margery A., (nee Dickinson), age 92 of Wyckoff formerly of Rutland, VT died peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born in Rutland, Margery came to Wyckoff in 1969. She was a 1944 graduate of Castleton State College in Castleton, VT. In her early career, Margery worked on the family farm and then went on to teach in the Village School in Manchester, VT. Later she worked at the High Mountain Golf Club in Franklin Lakes alongside of her husband Joe Lawler, (Golf Pro) who pre-deceased her in 2007. Margery volunteered at the Valley Hospital and the FISH organization. She was a parishioner at Church of the Nativity in Midland Park where she taught CCD. Margery is survived by her devoted son, Patrick X. Lawler and his wife Patricia, and her three loving grandsons, Patrick, Stephen and EJ. Along with her husband Joe, Margery is also pre-deceased by her son Joseph M. Lawler in 1976, her sisters Gladys Baker and Caroline Stockton and her brother David "Buster" Dickinson. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15 AM from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral Mass will follow 10:00 AM at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park. Interment will be in the Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah. Visiting is Sunday, 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com).
