Obituary of John J. Nelson II

Nelson, John J. II, age 52 of Ft. Myers, Florida died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at his home. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived in Wyckoff for 25 years and settled in Ft. Myers 5 years ago. John graduated from Ramapo High School and State University of New York Maritime College, Ft. Schuyler, Bronx, NY. He was a Captain in the Merchant Marines. John was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ruddy of New York, NY. Beloved son of John "Jack" Nelson and step-mother, Ellen Nelson (nee Fennell) of Wyckoff. Cherished brother of Clare Marie Nelson of Jackson Heights, NY; Mary Nelson of Holmdel, Claudia Kristensen of Mahwah, Brett Nelson of Port Townsend, WA and Kevin Nelson of West Milford. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Michael and Nicholas Fenimore; Brooke and Eric Kristensen; Brittany, Cydney and Brayden Nelson, Jake and Molly Nelson. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Private Cremation was held in Florida.
