Obituary of Charles Paulson

PAULSON, Charles age 80, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 1, 2008, at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Charlie was born in Newark on October 26, 1927, and grew up in Kearny, NJ. He moved to Midland Park 53 years ago and raised his family here. After working as a machinist for some years, Charlie came to the realization that being self-employed was a better alternative and chose painting as his way of life. Charlie enjoyed his activities in the community of Midland Park. He was a member of the Midland Park Boosters, the Lions Club, the Midland Park Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Fire Chief, and he coached Little League baseball. As a lifelong member of the Early Morning Coffee Club, he sat in the same chair every morning at Pete's Corner. Charlie was also a member of the Midland Park United Methodist Church and served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Marge (nee Sievewright), his devoted children, Barbara and her husband Rusty Dockrill of Wyckoff, Dale and her husband Lee Tracy of Midland Park, Curtis Paulson and his wife Diane of Allendale, and Allan Paulson and his wife Carolyn of Wyckoff. Charlie also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Shawn, Ellen, Kelly, Jonathan, Ryan, Alyssa, Timothy, McKenna, and Kate, his great granddaughter Ava, and his brother Allan Paulson, as well as many other loving relatives and friends and his granddogs, Griffey and Spirit. Charlie was pre-deceased by his twin brother Paul Paulson and his sister Bretta Reid. A memorial service will be held Friday, 11:00 am at the Midland Park Fire House, 45 Witte Drive, Midland Park, NJ 07432.
