Obituary of Elizabeth Morahan

Elizabeth Morahan age 86, of Manhattan, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, she was a longtime resident of The Bronx and Mt. Kisco, NY. She worked many years as an Accountant for Random House/Bertelsman Publishers until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Manhattan. Surviving are her devoted children Madeline Power, Barbara and her husband Ronald Torriani, Elizabeth Long, Martin and his wife Kerry Morahan and her son-in-law Thomas Lennon. Elizabeth is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 30 years, James P. Morahan in 1981, her son James in 1982 and daughters Mary Gillert in 2008 and Susan Lennon in 2012. She is also survived by her 14 adoring grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Jacqueline, Kyle, James, Benjamin, Nicholas, Meghan, Olivia, Eva, James, Isabella, Veronica and Eamon. Also survived by her siblings, Sr. Catherine Murray, Thomas and his wife Rita Murray and sister-in-law, Catherine Murray. Pre-deceased siblings are Martin Murray and John Murray. The Morahan family will receive friends on Friday August 15, 2014, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral mass will be Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 52 Passaic Street, Ridgewood, NJ. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
