Obituary of Melanie Hambos

Hambos, Melanie (nee Ayiotis), age 82 of New Port Richey, FL died on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Melanie was born in Tochni, Cyprus, she resided in Ridgefield before moving to New Port Richey, FL 24 years ago. She was a member of St. Nicholas G.O. Church in Tarpon Springs, FL. Prior to her retirement in 1982, Melanie and her husband, Charles where the owners of the Charcoal Paradise Restaurant, Union City and Charlie's Restaurant in West New York, NJ. Melanie is survived by her three children; Steve Hambos and his wife, Concettina of Wyckoff, George Hambos and his wife, Donna of Valrico, FL and Anne Zervas and her husband Peter of West Milford, one granddaughter, Arissa and five grandsons; John, Peter, Charles, George and Joseph. Also surviving are two sisters, Chrystalla Francou, Iro Psyllides and three brothers, Christos, Michalis and Constantine Ayiotis all of Cyprus. Melanie was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Kyriakos "Charles" Hambos on March 26, 2004 and two brothers, Neocletos Ayiotis and Nestoras Ayiotus. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas G.O. Church, 467 Grandview Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Interment will take place at Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
