Obituary of John R. McKinney

John R. McKinney, 50, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, formerly of Saddle River, N.J. died April 25, 2008 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY. A New Jersey native, John was retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service and worked as a civilian contractor at Fort Knox. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 113, Elizabethtown, KY. John is survived by his parents, Geraldine I. and Robert A. Hamilton of Pompton Plains, three brothers, Thomas A. of Wyckoff, Michael of Howell, and Kevin J. of Kennedyville, MD; and four sisters, Patricia Driscoll of Yelm, WA, Sharon Beyer of Davie, FL, Toni Dogget of Chatham, MA and Gale Hamilton of Danville, VT. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, N.J. 07481 (www.vpfh.com). A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 19, 2008, 11:00AM at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 Franklin Tpke., HoHoKus, NJ.
