Obituary of Eleanor Grieder

Eleanor L. Grieder, 84, a longtime resident of Ho-Ho-Kus died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Born in Midland Park she was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Carozza and Dr. Juliano both located in Ridgewood and worked at Baird Industries. Eleanor was a Sunday School teacher at the Ho-Ho-Kus Community Church. She was predeceased by her first husband John David Kievit, a brother Clarence Brautigam and a sister Dorothy Wanamaker. Survivors include her husband of 27 years Franklin J. Grieder, a daughter Susan D. Greig, a son David S. Kievit, a step-son Franklin Jay Grieder and his wife Lillian, a step-daughter Darian Logan, 9 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, and a sister Marion Volkart and her husband Richard. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22nd from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral will be held on Friday in the funeral home at 10:30 AM and the interment will follow at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood. As an expression of sympathy, contributions in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps., 33 Warren Ave., Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423.
