Obituary of Attilio Grosso
GROSSO, ATTILIO, age 95, of Hawthorne, died Saturday, April 19, 2014. Attilio was born in Serre, Italy and immigrated with his family to Paterson in 1954. He lived for a number of years in Totowa and Lakewood before moving to Hawthorne in 2008.
He was a textile worker for Zenith Dye & Finishing Company in Paterson for 27 years before retiring in 1981.
Attilio is survived by his children: Maria (Giovanni) Scano of Totowa, Frank D. (Pamela) Grosso of Hawthorne, and Vincenza (Robert) DeCaro of Wyckoff, his six grandchildren: Christina M. Scano, Francesco D. Grosso, Christopher R. Grosso, Michelle M. (David) Petriello, Lauren A. (Terence) McGouran, and Jenna M. (John) Denise. He is also survived by three great grandchildren: Conor Petriello, Isabella McGouran and Gianna Petriello. Attilio was predeceased by his wife Antonia in 2000.
Visiting hours are Monday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass is Tuesday, 11:30 am at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Entombment will follow at the Laurel Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Totowa.
