Obituary of Peter E. Ruel

RUEL, Peter E. age 56 of Ramsey died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday,April 13, 2018. Born and raised in Ramsey where he continued to live and raise his family, Peter retired in 2017 as an Investment Banker for Credit Agricole in New York City. Over his 30 year career, Peter was widely recognized for his accomplishments in the world of Finance. Following his retirement, Peter was happiest when spending time renovating his vacation home in Ludlow,VT. Peter loved his Ramsey Community, and was active in multiple organizations, including the Ramsey Baseball Association, Ramsey Hotspur F.C., and the Ramsey High School Athletic Association. He was instrumental in bringing overhead lighting to the High School athletic field. As a young man, Peter was an outstanding player on the Ramsey High School Football team. He went on to play division one football for The University of Wyoming, an experience he cherished greatly. He loved endless adventures with his family, coaching his sons in both soccer and baseball, and taking his family snowboarding, motocross racing, fishing, scuba diving, and on countless family trips. Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Judy (nee Vernotica) Ruel, sons Tucker Ruel, Casey Ruel and Samuel Ruel, sister Michele Meyers of Ramsey, NJ, sister Deborah Wind of Tehachapi, CA, brother Roger Ruel and wife Donna of Siloam, NC, brother John Ruel and wife Debbie of Tuxedo, NY, sister Lisa Ruel Callahan and husband Matthew of Lee, MA, sister-in-law Vicki Schultz and husband Stu of Oakland, NJ and many other loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. The Ruel family will receive friends on Wednesday 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral mass will be Thursday 10:00 AM at St Paul’s RC Church, 200 Wyckoff, Avenue, Ramsey, NJ. Interment will follow in the Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
