Obituary of Margaret Damato

Margaret “Peggy” Damato passed away peacefully at home in Franklin Lakes, NJ, on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was 88. Born in Paterson, NJ, she was a resident of Wyckoff, NJ, before moving to Franklin Lakes, NJ. Peggy was a homemaker and a long time parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, NJ. Her husband Philip Damato passed away in 2016 and her daughter Kathleen Damato passed away in 2006. Peggy is survived by her son Joseph Damato and her best friend Halina. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Peggy’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Contributions in Peggy’s memory may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 381 Grand St., Paterson, NJ 07505.
