Obituary of John Kakascik

John Kakascik, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the age of 68. Born in Passaic and raised in Saddle Brook, he was a 43 year resident of Wyckoff, NJ. John was an Engineer at both Fisk Alloy in Hawthorne and Carlisle Corporation in Wyckoff. He was a coach for Wyckoff football and one of the founding members of the Booster Association. John loved the beach and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Cheryl Kakascik; son John Kakascik and his wife Caisey; daughter Kimberly James and her husband Heath; four grandchildren: Kobie, Kayla, Reagan and Collin. He is also survived by three sisters: Joan Kakascik, Kathleen Karsen and Susan Hall. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Saviour Church, 365 Paramus Rd., Paramus, NJ 07652. Interment will follow at Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah.
