Obituary of Josephine Abbiati

ABBIATI, Josephine (nee Russo) age 95 of Pompton Plains, formerly of North Hutchinson Island, FL and Mahwah, died peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Born in Paterson, Josephine raised her family in Glen Rock moving to Mahwah and North Hutchinson Island, FL before coming to Cedar Crest Village in 2001. In 1953 Josephine and her late husband Emil opened the Wyckoff Ivy Shop located at 386 Franklin Avenue. She and her husband were members of the North Jersey Country Club, the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce and a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Darlington. Surviving are her devoted sons, Richard and his wife Joan of Wyckoff and Robert and his wife Susanne of Ringwood. Josephine also leaves her adoring grandchildren, Robert, Elisabeth, Courtney, Lauren and Jana and her sister Angela DeFino. She was pre-deceased by her husband Emil in 1997 and her brother Ralph Russo in 1996. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:00 AM from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will follow 10:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery. Visiting is Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
