Obituary of Laura Likman

Laura (Gruber) Likman, 79 of Wanaque, NJ, passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. Laura was born in Union, NJ and graduated from Union High School in 1948. She lived in Garfield, NJ and moved to Franklin Lakes, NJ where she and her husband Edward raised their family. She later moved to Aiken, SC and, more recently, to Wanaque, NJ. She worked as an office secretary for Bell Telephone Company in Newark, NJ for several years and as office manager for the New Jersey Audubon Society in Franklin Lakes, NJ until her retirement in 1987. Laura will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Laura was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Sr.; her parents Harrison and Mabel (Kunze) Gruber, her sister Mabel Grieve and brother Harrison Gruber. She is survived by her son Edward Jr. and his wife Diane Likman of Parsippany, NJ, her daughters Laura Schell and her husband Scott of Leesport, PA. and Nancy Graham and her husband Mark of Basking Ridge, NJ; her brother Kenneth Gruber and her sister Ruth Fox; her grandchildren, Blake, Ashley, Todd, Kimberly, Rick and Melissa and two great grandchildren. Family and friends may visit at the Vander Platt Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ on Thursday, Aug. 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Funeral Service will be offered at Vander Platt Funeral Home in Wyckoff on Friday, Aug. 27 at 11 AM. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
