Obituary of Ruth Shuart

SHUART, Ruth E., age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 23, 2010. Born in West Paterson, she lived in Hawthorne for the past 47 years. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Sixth Reformed Church, North Haledon. She spent much of her leisure time reading books. Ruth will be remembered by her loving family to be a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Ruth is survived by her beloved husband Rodney to whom she was married for 59 wonderful years, her son Kenneth of Hawthorne, her son Glen and wife Diane of Hawthorne, and her daughter Barbara Miller and husband Brett of Clifton Park, NY. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Timothy, Caroline, Eric, and Kristine, and her two sisters Jeanette O'Connell of Schenectady, NY and Ada Kugel of Sucasunna, NJ. She was predeceased by her brother Nicholas DeKoning. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, 7-9 PM at the Olthuis Funeral Home (www.olthuisfuneralhome.com), 159 Godwin Ave., Midland Park. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
