Obituary of James Brickman

BRICKMAN, James Thomas age 63 of Wyckoff, died peacefully on Sunday, July 4, 2010. Born in Quincy, IL on October 23, 1946, Jim lived in Wyckoff for the past 25 years. He was a Partner and Chief Operating Officer with Kwasha Lipton, a benefits consulting firm in Fort Lee. In 1972 Jim earned his JD from the University of Iowa College of Law where he was the Managing Editor, Iowa Law Review. In his early career Jim was a partner with Baker and Hostetler of Cleveland, OH. He was a Charter Fellow of the College of Employee Benefits Counsel, a member of the Board of the American Benefits Council and a member of the ABA Section of Taxation Employees Benefits Committee. Jim was a member of Arcola Country Club in Paramus. Surviving is his loving wife Robin (nee Duesterdick) his daughter Mindy O'Neal of Fuquay Varina, NC, his son Travis Brickman and his wife Sharon of Winston-Salem, NC and his step-son Thomas Hoesly of Wyckoff. Jim leaves two sisters, Rachel and her husband Wes Johnson of Bloomington, IL and Rosalind and her husband Craig Holt of Staunton, VA, also his cousin Debra Banks of Quincy, IL, his brothers-in-law, Scott Duesterdick and his wife Tracey of Niskayuna, NY and Kurt Duesterdick and his wife Bonnie of Old Bridge, NJ, his former wife Nancy Brickman of Pittsboro, NC, his granddaughters, Rebecca, Rachel and Betsy Jo and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Arcola Country Club, 158 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 15 Essex Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.
